Connections

Hubbard Families,

Thank you for taking time to join us for parent teacher conferences! As educators, we see parent teacher conferences as an important time to build connections and discuss the strengths and challenges of each student. The Hubbard staff and myself are here to help your child(ren) grow and learn, which we wouldn't be able to do without the support from you.

A few staff members decorated pumpkins over the weekend to be characters from a book. Students are voting during library class this week. We have some creative staff members! Thank you to Mrs. Gamboa for creating a fun activity for staff and students!

Please read the information below for updates and information about our school community!

School Fundraiser: Step It Up!

Step It Up was a huge success! We are so grateful for all the support! Thanks to all the donations Hubbard was able to raise over 11,000 dollars! These funds will go towards our Day of Awesomeness in May as well as student prizes, grade level field trips, PAWS prizes, brain gym equipment, paint for a peaceful playground, and teacher supply requests!

We also want to give a shout out to Mrs. Choate's class! They are the top earning class and will have VIP access on the Day of Awesomeness. The top earning students from each class will also get to enjoy pizza in the office! Congratulations to the students who won the mini fridges with cash and the iPad!

What is WIN TIme?

Has your child(ren) talked about WIN time? Did you hear about this from teachers at parent-teacher conferences?

WIN = What I Need!

WIN Time is our dedicated 30 minutes, 4 days a week to support students where they are. Each grade level and classroom dedicates 30 minutes to math and 30 minutes to reading as WIN time. Classroom teachers work with certified teachers and paraprofessionals to create small groups of students to support students at their level. Everyone is different and has strengths and challenges.

Did You Know?

At Hubbard, we have worked hard to start a "brain gym" for students who learn well with movement. Our brain gym teacher is also our PE teacher, Mrs. Hoagland, so she brings a lot of knowledge to support students grow with reading skills while also moving! Mrs. Hoagland works with a small group of students from each grade level four times a week to support reading growth!
