Input from our families is essential to our ongoing efforts to learn, improve, and support better outcomes for each student in the Morris School District. We would like to hear from you to learn more about your experiences in our schools.
Our online survey takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and your responses will remain anonymous and cannot be connected to you. Thank you for your participation.

Inter-Faith Food Pantry
In the winter, Normandy Park School conducted a food drive for the Inter-Faith food pantry. During enrichment clusters, the Senior Unit researched hunger and resolutions to hunger from a social justice lens.
On June 5th, the Interfaith Food Pantry presented to our students on food insecurity and hunger. They explained what their organization is doing to support families impacted by hunger and food insecurity. The presentation was very engaging. Students actively participated and asked questions.
Thank you to the Interfaith Food Pantry for taking their time to come and present!
Intermediate and Senior Field Day
On Thursday afternoon, the Intermediate and Senior Unit had their Field Day. Mr. Glenn divided the classes into teams, in which students from the Senior and Intermediate units were grouped together. Students rotated from station to station, playing fun, engaging, movement based games. We were lucky to have such great weather!
Thank you to Mr. Glenn for planning and organizing an amazing Field Day. As always, there was a lot time, effort, and hard work that went in to planning and implementing such a fun day! I would like to also thank, current college student and NPS alumni, Tajh Valentine. He has been helping out with NPS field days for a long time now. We appreciate the support!
A special thanks to all the parent volunteers! We truly appreciate your time and support. In addition, I would like to thank all the middle school volunteers (NPS alumni) for coming back and helping out with this fun day!
Girls on the Run
Congratulations to our Normandy Park School students who completed the Jaycees Florham Park 5K over the weekend!
Thank you to our parent volunteer coaches Frank O'Brien, Richard Nause, and Elham Nause for their time, effort and work with the girls throughout the Spring season. I joined the team for the 5K on Saturday. It was great to see the students and their parents running with confidence and enthusiasm!
Kindergarten Orientation
Incoming students and their families visited Normandy Park School on Friday, June 7th. I appreciate all the time that went into planning this event. This was a collaborative effort involving parent volunteers, teachers, TAs, office staff, and the custodial team.
Future K students had the chance to visit a K/1 classroom, complete a guided activity around next year's theme (Knowledge is our Superpower!), and ride the bus.
Parents met with me for a brief informational session to discuss what to expect next year! In addition, parents heard from Molly Servais of the MEF, Beth Schreiber (2019-2020 HSA co-president), Sally Casdevall (secretary), Stephanie Feo (speech therapist), Collen Varneckas (occupational therapist), and Mary Beth Supple (school nurse).
A special thanks to all parent volunteers (committee chair, Shannon Hoover, and parent volunteers Eve Taub, Anketse Debebe and Beth Schreiber) for taking the time to come and welcome our new students and families!
Transition Day
On June 7th, students who will be moving up next year (i.e. to the Intermediate or Senior Unit) visited a Senior or Intermediate classroom. Students had a great time. The future Olders in the class set a great example for the incoming Youngers!
During this time, 5th graders met in the Gym with Erica Hartman, our Director of Technology Integration, to review digital citizenship. They reviewed responsibilities, social media, and being safe online.
Pennies for Patients Campaign
On May 31st, we concluded our Pennies for Patients campaign. The Student Council, Ms. Polcaro, and Ms. Black helped collect and organize classroom coin collection boxes for donations. Thank you for your time, help, and support.
We had 100% of classrooms participate in the collecting donations. Overall, the school raised over 7,000 dollars. The money raised went directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To learn more about the program, please feel free to visit their website at https://www.studentseries.org/
The two top fundraising classrooms were: 1st) Mrs. Smith and 2nd) Mrs. Rosso. The 1st place classroom earned a pizza party. The 2nd place classroom earned an ice cream party.
