2023 School Board Elections
Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 will have four school board seats to be filled at the Consolidated Election on April 4, 2023. Candidates who are elected will fill four-year terms expiring in April 2027.
Candidates for the office of the school board can circulate nominating petitions for signatures beginning September 20, 2022. The period for filing nominating petitions runs from December 12 through December 19, 2022.
A candidate for the school board is required to file the nominating petitions, Statement of Candidacy, and receipt for filing their Statement of Economic Interests with the applicable county election clerk and not with the school board secretary or the administrative offices of the school district. The county clerk may have petition forms available, or blank petitions may be downloaded from the State Board of Elections website: elections.il.gov.
Candidates may also want to consult the “2023 Candidate’s Guide” (https://www.elections.il.gov//Downloads/ElectionOperations/PDF/2023CanGuide.pdf), which can be downloaded from the Illinois State Board of Elections website, or contact the county clerk or board of election commissioners regarding the requirements of filing. Candidates and voters can get information about District 30 from our website and learn about being a school board member from the Illinois Association of School Boards at: iasb.com/elections.

Reporting Absences and Appointments
If your child will be absent for an appointment, please call or email the health office no later than the morning of the planned appointment. The health office number is 847-400-8908, email kweissler@district30.org. Voicemail is available outside of school hours to receive notices of absent students.
For safety, students are not permitted to leave the Maple building during school hours without being picked up in the front office by a parent or designated adult. It is also helpful for parents to arrange medical and dental appointments before or after school hours. An authorized adult must come into the school to sign out a student. No children are allowed to leave the building unescorted.
Parents calling to report an absence due to illness should call or email the health office prior to the start of school on that day.
Maple School Gets Gritty!
As you may have heard at Curriculum Night, Maple School is working to foster resilience and perseverance in our students. We are calling it "Grit," and it is a skill that we believe will impact your students’ success both academically and socially. We are asking parents/guardians to complete the included grit survey and score submission by September 15. Your input will help us better understand how we can support your students and promote this skill development. Thank you for your partnership!
Maple Students Must Be Supervised at GBN and GBS Events
To help support the safety and security of athletic events held at Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South High Schools, middle school students must be accompanied by a parent who will be responsible for their supervision. Beginning on September 9, students will not be allowed to enter the event unless a parent or guardian is with them. District 225 appreciates your cooperation in maintaining a safe environment for all of its guests.
Make Sure Your Health Forms are Up-To-Date
Sixth-graders and students new to Maple are required to provide the school with a health exam, which was completed within one year prior to the first day of school. Students new to Illinois will also need to hand in a completed eye exam. Sixth-graders must also provide the school with a dental exam form or waiver. All forms are available on the Maple website at District 30 Health Forms. If your child will be participating in Maple athletics, it is required that your student have a health exam that was completed within one year prior to the last game of the season on file in the health office.
Please contact the Health Office at 847-400-8908 if you have questions.
Join Our Maple Parent/Teacher Advisory Council
Our Maple Parent/Teacher Advisory Council (PTAC) is seeking parent members for the 2022-23 school year.
