Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me..."

Early Childhood Monthly Newsletter--December 2015

"The spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others." 1 Cor. 12:7

Advent ...Guess who is coming for Christmas?

Advent is a season of waiting, expecting, and hoping. Beginning four Sundays prior to Christmas and ending on Christmas Eve, Advent helps us prepare for the coming of the birth of Jesus. Advent comes from the Latin word that means "coming." For hundreds of years, Christians have used an Advent wreath to inspire their hopes for the coming of Christ. By lighting candles and reading Bible verses, we are reminded about the meaning of Christ's birth and become more excited about his coming in the past, in the future, and in our lives.

The children are learning about Advent and Christmas this month. We are singing a song each day as we light the advent candles on our altar. The first candle represents HOPE and we are singing this song this week : "Light one candle for HOPE, one bright candle for HOPE, Jesus brings HOPE to everyone, He comes, He comes." Next week we will sing about PEACE, then JOY, then LOVE.

Please see me if you have any questions about Advent or our Christmas schedule this year. Blessings!
