A Note from Principal Welch
Dear Families,
This year has been one where it feels like it has been 3 years long, yet at times, it seems like it has flown by! I can't believe we are down to our final two weeks of school. I have thoroughly enjoyed partnering with you this year and appreciate your continued commitment to Cottage Lake Elementary!
Within the information below, please pay special attention to the UPDATED Technolgy section below and also the Library book return information. It is important to know that ALL district-issued technology needs to be returned BY JUNE 18 @ 4:00 PM. The technology return dates have been modified below, so please look at the new details. If your student(s) need one for summer learning, you can request a summer device using the link provided below. Please know this is for summer use only! All other students will receive devices in the fall. Specific details are provided below.
The last important note is about library books. It's time to return the books you have at home. Any books that are not returned with be moved to a fine and that will be listed in your student's account. Please look high and low for books students still have at home or other places they've been in the past year. If you have questions, please reach out to Mrs. Sterling.
If your student will not be attending school any of the days during the next two weeks, please don't forget to reach out to Mrs. Negrin to let her know. We will be taking attendance up until the final day of school.
Let's have a great week ahead!
Take Care,

Unleash the Brilliance (UtB)
The Northshore School District was one of two districts in the state, awarded with the Racial Discipline Gap grant from OSPI. We have partnered with Unleash the Brilliance (UTB) to empower youth to make positive decisions and build a positive partnership between schools and families. The collaboration between Northshore and UTB is to inspire youth to share ideas and tools with students that empower and inspire them to value the process of learning and proactively engage in their education, in their future, and with their community. Unleash the Brilliance (UTB) is hosting parent and student success workshops in partnership with the Northshore School District to reduce infractions and discipline. These informational workshops will in turn help staff to become aware of related issues affecting our students.
These free workshops are open to all Northshore families and will focus on:
- Best practices on how to prevent suspension or expulsion
- How to manage the disciplinary hearing, appeal, and review procedures to work collaboratively to find alternatives to suspension or expulsion
- Share your thoughts, hopes, concerns and hear from other parents
