Patty Clancy Honored for "This Bud's for You Award" at Vienna-Finley.
During a recent staff meeting, Holly Asdell, previous recipient of the "This Rose Bud's for You!" Award at Vienna-Finley, presented Mrs. Patty Clancy with the award for the month of November. Mrs. Asdell stated the following in honor of Mrs. Clancy. "I would like to nominate Patty Clancy for This Bud’s For You Award. It is a wonderful feeling to know I work with such passionate, smart, hardworking, and loving people. Today, I would like to pass this award to Mrs. Patty Clancy. Not only to I work with all of you wonderful people but many of you have been my sons teachers. I am taking advantage of this opportunity and not only giving this award to a wonderful teacher who I admire as a co-worker but also giving it to someone who has helped me from a parental perspective. This is my oldest son’s last year at VFES. Trust me, I can give this award to any of his previous teachers because they have all worked so well with him and been able to balance pushing him while being flexible with his needs. So, with this being his final year in elementary school, Mrs. Clancy has a unique time with him as she helps him and the rest of her students prepare for their next level of education at SMS. Mrs. Clancy came to our school last year. She came from a district where she had a good career going, many great relationships formed, and a place where she probably could have stayed until she retired. She chose to come back to SCSD2 and VFES was fortunate enough to be the place where she landed. She came right before the school year started and she fit right in. She has learned the ropes from our lead teacher Mrs. Smith which helped shape her into the teacher she is. With the help, encouragement, and advice she received from Mrs. Smith, she was able to turn around the following year and help Mrs. Cazares transition from teaching Kindergarten to teaching 5th grade. Mrs. Clancy welcomes every student into her classroom with a smile. She makes learning fun. She looks for the bright side and solutions to the challenges that come up. We are blessed to have her as part of our staff and I am blessed as a mother to have her as my son’s 5th grade teacher. Thank you Mrs. Clancy for all that you do.
Congratulations Mrs. Clancy!
