Eagle Lounge Success!

The Grand Opening of CUI's Eagle Lounge had a great turnout!

We had ASCUI President, Jamie Rivera, and LEAD's Commuter Outreach coordinators, Alexis Farrar and Kia Mojabe, speak about this new student lounge. Jonathan Ruehs was also there to bless the Eagle Lounge. There were sno cones and popcorn for all to enjoy as well as a raffle. The raffle winners are Joanna Urueta, Edward Hurley, Jason O'Brien and Alli Kosky. Please come by to claim your prizes if you have not already.

Can't wait to see everyone using the Eagle Lounge!!

What a Hit!

This years Breast Cancer Awareness month was a success!

ASCUI's "On Wednesdays We Were Pink!" campaign was able to raise $455. For the last two weeks of this campaign the Provost's office said they would match our last two weeks donation, the amount of students that came in the last two weeks was 219. ASCUI also donated the money collected from selling the "On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!" shirts; there were 100 shirts sold for $5 each which is $500 more donated thanks to faculty, staff and students.

The grand total that ASCUI was able to raise without the Provost's office is $955. With the help of the Provost's office the grand total comes out to $1,174.

Great Job Concordia for helping ASCUI donate!

Recycling committee

The lack of recycling on our campus has been a dominant concern among students, faculty and staff. ASCUI has recognized this concern, and is working on creating an action plan, that will lead us into being a more sustainable campus!

ASCUI has put together a recycling committee, comprised of ASCUI Senators as well as the ASCUI President and ASCUI Vice President, who are looking into ways in which we can alleviate this concern. ASCUI will be working alongside University Services as well as administration in order to assess the resources, which will be needed to attain sustainability. Moving our campus into a green community will be a long process, which will require the support of the student body. If you have any suggestions or are looking for ways in which you can get involved with this action plan, please email the ASCUI Vice President, Christine Gonzalez at

A note from the ASCUI President

Hello Concordians! I hope the fall semester is finding you well, and that the stress from the upcoming spring semester has not found you yet! ASCUI has been working hard this semester to meet the wants and needs of the student body. I wanted to take a quick moment to remind you that if you have any concerns, please feel free to approach the ASCUI Executive Board, I promise we won't bite! You may also stop by an ASCUI Senate Open Forum, which are held every Wednesday at 10:30am in Student Union 202. My position as ASCUI President allows me to work alongside administration to get your voice heard, and I want to make sure that you know the appropriate outlet to voice your opinion, because it is truly valued.
