The acropolis is a series of buildings that is home to many temples. Acropolis is located on a rocky mountain that was a center of many towns. The Acropolis was mainly used as a building for people to come and gather at. It is also used to make political decisions and to take event in the Olympic Games.

Perikles
Perikles was an old Athens leader statesman that was persuaded the people of Athens to rebuild the Acropolis in 450B.C. after the Persian invasion in 480B.C.
Athena
Athena at the Acropolis was a patron goddess that was a main festival that was held at the Acropolis. Athena's every other fourth birthday she would receive amazing gifts and a expensive robe's. Beautiful carvings surrounded the top rim of the Parthenon at the Acropolis.
Why is the Acropolis so Important
The Acropolis building was very important because it was a home or sanctuary to other temples and was the focus for Athenian Festival which was a highly celebrated event. Perikles also the creator of the Acropolis, he thought it made him look more powerful knowing he could create such an amazing building.
