Dear Robert Hunter families,

We made it through our first week of Hybrid instruction! Thank you for your ongoing flexibility and positivity. We know that this new schedule came quickly and as families, you needed to adapt quickly. We absolutely recognize the challenges that many of our families are facing now in moving to a new schedule and helping our children to adjust. We are hopeful that in time, everyone will feel more comfortable and find routines that work at home.

We are beginning our regular schedule of alternating weeks next week, so we are hoping that everyone will start to feel more of a rhythm. Next week, we will have all of our Cohort A students following their blue schedules and all Cohort A hybrid students will be in the building.

Oct. 19th - all of our Cohort B students will be on their blue week schedule with Cohort B Hybrid students being in the building.

We know that any hybrid schedule is not ideal, and we can not wait for the day when we can all be together in our building as one whole community! That day will come, and we will certainly have quite the celebration! In the meanwhile, we will continue to work through challenges, as we all do the best that we can.

The PTO is asking all families to please complete the following form with contact information. This information will be shared with homeroom parents to assist with communications this 2020/2021 school year. Please respond by October 19th. If you do not want to be included in homeroom parent communications you do not need to respond.

Dismissal reminder

Dismissal will be at 1:20. If you are picking up your child, please remain in your vehicle and pull-up into the pick-up line. Please have a sign with your child’s name and homeroom visible. We will be providing car tags to be used after your child's first day of school.

If you are picking up your child from school, you will need to alert the office via email. Please email your child’s homeroom teacher and our school secretaries Wendy Chambers ( and Robyn Bennett (

If you will be picking up your child every day or on a regular schedule (ex. every Friday) you only need to send one email alerting the office of this request.

If you would like to complete a bus waiver form and opt out of receiving bussing, please alert the main office. Otherwise, if we do not have a pick-up notice, your child will be sent home on the bus.

If you are picking up your child, please send an email to the office first thing in the morning and no later than 9:00 as we will need to plan for a safe and orderly dismissal.

CHECK-LIST FOR Hybrid students:

If your child is attending school in-person, please remember:

  • Complete the district health screener each morning! Written directions are HERE. Step-by-step visual instructions are HERE.

  • Your child must come to school in a mask. Please pack an extra mask and a paper bag for your child to place his/her mask in when eating and going outside.

  • Pack 1-2 water bottles, as water fountains will not be available.

  • Pack a towel for sitting outside on the grass during outdoor breaks.

  • Pack your child’s fully-charged district-issued device.

  • Pack a lunch, or your child may pre-order school lunch with his/her teacher.

  • Please ensure your children wear sneakers and bring an extra pair of socks in their bookbags.

  • Dress for the weather - students will be outside whenever possible!

School Meals

Meal pick-up will be held on Fridays at Robert Hunter from 1:20-3:00.

Meals are available to all students who will be home for virtual learning (5 days worth of food).

If you are picking up meals, please park in our side parking lot and walk to the table that is set up outside that area.

Students will continue to be able to pre-order school lunch when they are in school.

PTO - Highlights and Reminders!

Drive Through School Pictures

We will be offering an outdoor Drive-Through Picture Day on Friday October 23rd between 2:15pm and 6:30pm and Saturday October 24th between 9am and 2:30pm.

Makeup day for photos will be Wednesday November 11th starting at 2:15pm.

Please scan the QR code below with the camera on your smart phone or go to to choose a time slot that will work best for your child to be photographed.

On photo day you will drive up and when instructed, your child will get out of the car, be photographed, and then return to your vehicle. You will receive a direct link to view and order your child’s photos to the email and/or cell phone you provide when booking your photo time.

Fall Virtual Book Fair- October 12th- 25th

The Robert Hunter PTO invites you to shop the Online Book Fair and support our school! The Fair runs from October 12- October 25.
