Vaccines for 5 to 11-year-olds
With children ages 5 to 11 now eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination in addition to those 12 and up, many of our students have begun the vaccination process. As shown on this Oregon Health Authority diagram, this will further help us continue to keep kids in school full-time and in person. For those families whose students are or will be vaccinated, please note the following:
- To have your child's COVID-19 vaccination added to their immunization record, please email a copy of their vaccine card or verification to our health assistant, Laura Westerberg-Wood (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Students who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 won't be required to quarantine if exposed to someone who tests positive, unless they begin to show symptoms or test positive themselves. You will still be notified of any school exposures. (We are awaiting pending quarantine policy changes for students who are not vaccinated).
The school district isn't currently planning to host any vaccination clinics for younger students, so if you plan on vaccinating your child contact your child's pediatrician or a local pharmacy to get them scheduled for their vaccine appointment.
Winter Weather Prep
As the temperatures continue getting colder, it’s time to start preparing for winter weather and the snow bus routes, school delays, or closures that can come along with it.
When inclement weather strikes, the district will make decisions about school as early as possible -- sometimes even the night before, but our goal is by no later than about 5:30 a.m. on the day of the weather event. The message will go out via FlashAlert and will then be reported on most news websites and TV stations.
To make sure you’re set to receive the information, again, please subscribe to Canby School District on FlashAlert. Now is also a good time to update your text preferences online by listing your phone number. For more information, please see our inclement weather page.

Click on any link to order an item and it will be delivered directly to the school!
