We know that this is hard and that remote learning cannot replicate or cover everything, but know that our staff have been working diligently to create thoughtful lessons that prioritize critical learning standards necessary to prepare students for the next grade level.

Our teachers are setting aside time throughout the week to hold office hours intended for staff to make connections with students and families. Continue to expect a weekly lesson notification from your teacher every Monday around 9:00 am with learning for the week.

WE are grateful for your continued partnership, especially during these strange and difficult times. We wish you well and are hopeful our community continues to stay healthy during this health crisis.

OSPI REQUIREMENT: TRACK STUDENT ATTENDANCE

Attendance for Continuous Learning means:

At minimum, at least once a week, a two-way participation on the part of the teacher, and the family/student. Two-way participation may occur via email, phone, zoom, google classroom, etc.

Our teachers will enter attendance on Fridays. Obviously we hope for much more than a two-way participation once a week, but we are very aware of the multitude of different family concerns and situations. As you know, our teachers will be providing continuous learning opportunities each day.

ASSESSMENTS:

• Students are not being assessed this school year on the state Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) or the Science Test.
• The Highly Capable Assessment for our current 3rd graders will be given in the Fall of 2020 as 4th graders.

The Endeavour PTO would like to send a little message to our wonderful Endeavour teachers to let them know we miss them. We would like to ask willing families to send in a photo from their student.

• The photo could include the student holding up a sign/poster they created with a message for their teacher. If families do not want to use a photo of their student, a close up photo of a handwritten message from the student would be great, too.

• Remind your student to write big and neat so the teachers can read their posters and keep it in mind when taking the photo as well.

• Please email your photos to endeavourptostaffappreciation@gmail.com with the name of your student and their teacher. We will use the photos to create short videos for each teacher and then send the videos to the teachers. The videos will not be publicly posted only sent to the teachers.

• Please submit your photos to endeavourptostaffappreciation@gmail.com by May 1, 2020.
