Message from the Principal

What an amazing start to the school year! It is hard to believe that we are more than halfway through the first quarter. Students are coming to school happy and ready to learn, which makes our jobs so much easier! Thank you for partnering with us to make every day a great day.

Arrival & Dismissal

Thank you for helping us make arrival and dismissal effective and efficient!

Arrival - Please remember to use the left arrival lane if your child can exit the car quickly without any assistance. The right lane will be used for students who need assistance or will take a bit longer to exit their vehicle. Farley staff are on duty from 8:20 until 8:40. After 8:40, drop off will be at the flagpole and students will enter the front doors.

Dismissal - We begin car rider dismissal at 3:40. Thanks to parents having car numbers clearly displayed and following our car rider line procedures, we have decreased the time needed to get all students safely in their cars. That translates to more instructional time!

Yearbook

If you'd like to order a 23-24 yearbook, you can order HERE. This year all the sales will be directly through Jostens.

From the Library

September Book Challenge (all grades)

Students may choose to read 12 books (of any length) during the month of September to earn a water bottle sticker. Listening to the book, or reading the book counts. Write the title and author on the tracker sheet, get the tracker signed by a parent, and return it to the library by the end of the month. Students have been encouraged to read or listen to their siblings read books. Trackers can be printed HERE or picked up in the library.

20 Book Challenge (3rd-6th)

Students that choose to participate in grades 3-6 fill out a form about each book that they read that is at least 50 pages. It can be any book that meets the 50 page requirement. The tracker sheet is optional. Students should use complete sentences with capitals and periods when filling out the form. Students that complete the challenge are recognized at the monthly assembly and are invited to a party at the end of the school year.

You may choose to introduce this to your child now, or wait until their next library class. Students will be learning about this opportunity over the next two weeks in the library. Students that went to Farley last year, may already know about the 20 book challenge (except for 3rd grade).
