HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week7 Friday 10 June

FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
Thank you to our Year Four Gang for today’s assembly! This was a whole lot of fun and was enjoyed by all of us. What a beautiful start to the day.
Following the assembly, the whole school 'Narrative Brightpath Immersion' took place. This was a great experience! The way in which our Literacy Team structured the event provides us with many valuable opportunities - to track our student’s writing over the last few years, practise moderating with other teachers, and see the impact that 7 Steps for Writing is having on the quality of the writing produced.
Thanks to everyone who covered off on student absences this week. It aided a lot with the State government audit which took place today. A response to the sms sent by Michele on the day of the absence remains the simplest explanation for record keeping purposes. Far and away most people reply promptly to these which helps so much. Thank you.
We wish our year Six students every success as they engage in the Winter Sports Carnival on Thursday. This is a highly prized competition with children involved from a large number of schools.
Next Friday sees our school cross country for our children in Years Three to Six at Jackadder. This is a very popular event, well supported by your good selves. We look forward to seeing many of you there. Also on Friday, our Pre-Primary children will be attending mass in our parish starting at 9am. You are most welcome to join them, and then stay for coffee. This is such a great start to the day!
Have a great weekend.

SCHOOL CALENDAR
COVID CONVERSATION CONTINUED....
THE LAST DAY OF TERM!
While Friday July 1 is still a while away, we want to acknowledge the support of and give thanks to the P&F for the opportunity of working together to make the last day of term a very special one. It is the first time these events have been combined - fantastic idea! Don’t worry the Kindy Kids won’t be missing out - we have plans for them to get their cupcakes on Thursday.
Last day of term, Friday July 1:
Casual Dress
9am - Mass
10am Bake Sale (cupcakes donated by parents and guardians, distribution run by student leaders)
2pm disco (similar plans as for 2020 – discos in gym, Veritas, Undercover area – depending on the age of students from Pre-primary to Year Six) - instead of a night time disco next term.
3pm go home
Cost - $5 per child or $10 per family, covering:
Donation to St Vincent De Paul Blanket Appeal ($1 per child)
A cupcake from the Cake Stall
P&F - Contribution to Graduation, and to other P&F initiatives
The disco replaces the one initially planned for next term, and the bake sale is a different take on the one usually held at the end of the day. Our Year Six Students will be in charge of all the arrangements. It will be a big and excellent day for them – in fact for all of the children.
ROSARY ON THURSDAY

CROSS COUNTRY
Well what a brilliant week, with lots happening around the school in some chilly conditions. Running Club is in full swing with the wonderful Mrs Catherall at the helm, helping to prepare our runners in Years 3-6 for next Friday’s Cross Country.
The Year 6’s are also training hard for their Winter Sports Carnival which is next Thursday. Netball, Soccer and Football are in full swing. Special thanks to Ms O’Neill, Ms Passmore, Mr Scutti and Mr D’Aloia for their help with our teams.
I will upload the fixtures and timings for both carnivals on Seesaw so have a look there for all the detailed information about both events.
We could still use some helpers for the Cross Country next Friday if we have any parents that are free I would love to hear from you. Please email, admin@hrs.wa.edu.au and I will get back to you early next week. Thanks in advance.

LIBRARY
How fabulous to celebrate W.A. and the Queen’s Jubilee in one weekend! It’s made for a super fun week of princess books and books about our gorgeous home state.
As we approach the end of term 2, a reminder about our lost books policy. If your child has an overdue book at home, please return it before the holidays. If it is lost, please purchase a replacement over the holidays so borrowing can start first day back. Thanks for your support of your school library.
