July Beautycounter Updates
I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far! I was in Target yesterday and told Lucas how I can't believe the school supplies are out already, it seems like school just got out yesterday! I sometimes think that it would be nice to live somewhere where the weather is nice year round, but I would honestly miss the seasons and the snow when it's here. Also, I think it makes me appreciate the nicer weather so much more.
I wanted to send this little newsletter out to give you all a few updates as to what's been happening with Beautycounter. And, once I got it completed I realized how much info it contained, so bear with me! There are a lot of exciting things going on around here!
Lastly, I want to thank each of you for your support over the past couple of years. I have enjoyed sharing all sorts of health, wellness, and Beautycounter information with you and I love hearing feedback that you have learned something on how to live a healthier life. Never hesitate to reach out, that is what I am here for and what I love doing.

Beautycounter is coming to Target!
For the past 17 months we've been working on a limited partnership for the Fall (starting 9/12) that provides an unbelievable opportunity for us. This collaboration will allow us to truly further our mission of getting safer products into the hands of everyone by raising awareness of our brand and achieving our goal of transforming the beauty industry!
This will be a small collection of "Made for Target" items for a limited time. This 3rd party validation is so exciting! Target is my happy place and it just got better!
Mascara is here!
Our mascara launched in May and I have fallen in love! It is one of the best mascara's I have ever used. It lengthens and seperates my lashes, and is buildable if you like thicker coverage.
Why is ours safer? Other cosmetic brands commonly use ingredients in their mascara formulation that have been linked to adverse health effects. For example, propylparaben, butylparaben, and butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) are preservatives commonly used in mascaras which can disrupt hormones. All of these ingredients are on our Never List.
Our mascara has incredible staying power, but it is sensitive to coming into contact with oils either from product or your natural oils. I created a video to give you some tips on how to prevent smudging and smearing. If you have the mascara and need some help with performance, let me know! I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve.
Lastly, the mascara has a expiration date of 3 months from first use. This is due to the fact we don't use a lot of preservatives and since it comes into contact with your eyes the risk of bacteria growth is high so be sure to replace every 3 months.

Mascara tips
Purifying Charcoal Mask
This mask is a mineral-rich mix of kaolin clay and charcoal. The Purifying Charcoal Mask works to gently exfoliate, draw out impurities, and soothe. The formula helps improve skin's overall condition by refining the appearance of pores and increasing elasticity. Offers a purifying treatment for congested skin and a 10-minute spa-grade facial. For the deepest clean, prep skin with Charcoal Cleansing Bar. I have noticed an incredible improvement in the brightness of my complexion, reduction of pore size, and less breakouts and if one pops up I spot treat with the mask and it takes it away quickly.

Our Loved Sunscreen Stick just got BIGGER!
Our larger sized (1.3 oz., $34) Sunscreen Stick launched today! It is meant for the whole body! It's the same beloved formula that smells like a tootsie roll. I've been using it for 2 weeks and love using this larger stick all over the body. It blends in well and Elijah loves using it (I just do a double sweep to make sure everything is covered).
Why is ours safer? Many sunscreens use chemical sun blockers like oxybenzone, which soaks through skin, triggers allergic skin reactions, and may be a hormone disruptor. Protect All Over uses non-nano zinc oxide, which is a safer, effective, natural mineral sunblocker.

Stand Up 2 Cancer Fundraiser
I am so incredibly proud to be part of a company that has a mission that extends far beyond our product line. Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and Beautycounter have come together to honor all who have been touched by cancer. Join us in bringing awareness to the disease, the value of research, and the people it impacts. Create your own fundraising page, and ask your friends and family to contribute to a great cause that funds critical cancer research. We all have had cancer touch someone in our lives and it's heartbreaking to watch what that disease does to a body.
I will be donating 10% of my profits from July to this fundraiser. In addition, BEAUTYCOUNTER HAS COMMITTED TO MATCHING YOUR DONATIONS—UP TO $50,000—DURING THE MONTH OF JULY.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a real difference in SU2C’s effort to stop cancer from taking more lives. Thank you in advance for your participation and contribution.
We deliver on our mission in three important ways: through our beautiful products, education, and by advocating for more laws protecting health. This campaign is an example of our mission in action.
I believe that preventing exposure to potentially harmful ingredients in the products we use every day is simply the right thing to do.
At Beautycounter, we’ve banned more than 1,500 ingredients, setting a new health and safety standard—intentionally screening each ingredient used for safety.
This is about progress—not perfection. Because every little bit counts.
Together with @Beautycounter, I am raising awareness and funds for @SU2C to support critical cancer research and prevention. Beautycounter has generously offered to match each dollar raised (up to $50,000), allowing us to double our impact. A Call For Action on Toxic Chemicals
Over the past 50 years over 80,000 chemicals have come to market with very little safety data on these various chemicals that are found throughout our environment. We know that neurodevelopment is extremely complex and the link between chemical exposure is difficult to make due to the complexity. A unique coalition of doctors, scientists, and health advocates are calling for more regulation. They want proof that a chemical is safe before it makes its way into our lives. Right now we live in a country that everything is innocent until proven guilty and that is scary. I'm thrilled to hear that well-respected medical bodies are in this fight for safety. The needle is shifting and it might be slow, but it's happening.
"The scientists note that neurodevelopmental disorders are complex and have multiple genetic, social and environmental causes. But most chemicals in use today were not adequately tested for safety before being allowed on the market, said Dr. Jeanne Conry, an obstetrician-gynecologist and a past president of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, which is part of the coalition."
