From the Principal's Pen
March 25, 2022
Our Student Council members, Service Club members and Ambassadors marched in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday March 20 at 2:00 PM from Town Hall down Greenwich Avenue. They did a great job representing Julian Curtiss!
Thank you for your partnership in your child's learning. Parent Teacher Conferences were held this week and we appreciate the time you took to meet with our staff! Julian Curtiss and New Lebanon Schools are the only two elementary schools in the district that hold an official second Parent Teacher Conference during the school year. We will work hard to continue this tradition moving forward. If you have not had a conference please contact your child's teacher right away and they will do their best to accommodate you.
We will be offering some before and after school tours for anyone that might be interested in seeing their child's school building.
We have scheduled two dates so far:
Monday, March 28th at 7:30 am or 3 pm.
Monday, April 4th at 7:30 am or 3 pm.
Please call the office at 203-869-1896 and let Lisa or Pati know you will be coming. If those dates don't work please provide a few dates that will work before or after school and we will try and accommodate you.
You will be receiving an invitation soon to come watch the Fun Run on our field on April 14th which is the day before our spring recess.
Have a wonderful weekend!

From the Nurse
A friendly reminder to continue monitoring your children for signs and symptoms of illness before sending your child to school each morning. We are also continuing with our district policy which requires all sick children to stay home for 24 hours symptom free/ fever free without the use of medication to control fever. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thank you for your help in keeping JC safe and healthy!

Odyssey of the Mind (OM™) teaches students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem-solvers. Imagine being faced with a problem that requires an original solution. It can be frightening. Now imagine not being afraid to solve that problem – that is what OM members learn. This skill and self-confidence will carry over to all areas of their lives. OM brings the classroom to life as students apply what they learn and combine it with their interests and passions to solve our unique open-ended problems. OM also emphasizes teamwork, budgeting, time management, public speaking, and so much more. This international program is designed to help students at all learning levels grow as individual learners, grow as team members, and to reach their full potential.
