Hello, from Mrs. B!!
Important Info....Please Read!!
Tryouts for Variety Show Emcees are tomorrow, Thursday, May 21 !!!!!!!!
This message is from Ms. Miglin! I visited all the 5th grade classrooms today, but I accidentally missed Mrs. B's class because of recess and my own stupidity! Luckily, I ran into her after school and she asked me if I saw any of my students from last year. That's when I realized I missed her room. So, if you think your child might be interested in auditioning to be an emcee, PLEASE read the message below!!
"We are looking for students who can confidently speak into a mic in front of a large audience. Emcees hold the script in their hands so memorizing is not necessary. Students are judged on: clear and correct pronunciation/ stage presence with personality and vibrance/speaking aloud with the ability to ad lib when necessary! Auditions will be held in the mini jag den TOMORROW, THURSDAY, MAY 21 FROM 8:30 UNTIL DISMISSAL !! Students will come to audition any time that is APPROVED BY THEIR TEACHER! The evening performance will be on Friday, May 29 and emcees will need to be in the cafeteria no later than 6:00pm. The dress rehearsal will be Wed. May 27 after school until about 4:30. Emcees are expected to be there the entire time. If chosen, your child will be notified by me on Friday of this week and more info will be given to you at that time. Here are 2 made up introductions that students were given today to practice at home tonight:
1."Our next performer will simply amaze you with their musical ability! You would think they were performing on American Idol ! Let's give a warm Julington welcome to......5th grader...Julie Williams.....as she sings......"My Country Tis of Thee" !
2. "You think you have seen magic shows before that were....eh..pretty good? Well, sit back and prepare yourselves for some really phenomenal magic wizardry! It's my pleasure to introduce to you.....2nd grader....Jonathan Julington!"
If you don't have a printer at home, please have your child write out one of these 2 introductions, so they can practice a lot tonight!! Sorry about that inconvenience!! Also, since your child doesn't have the permission slip just send me a quick written note signed by you!! (like this)
" My child, Joe Shmo" has permission to try out. Mrs. Shmo"
Short and sweet!! Thanks so much!!!!! Ms. Miglin
