The Titan Way - Respectful Language, Attitude and Actions
My heart is full! What an amazing week of school spirit and commitment to our students' futures. From Homecoming to PSAT to Titan Bootcamp (which was hilarious by the way!), we did a great job of making our school a special place. I know that sometimes I get so busy with the minutia of managerial obligations that I forget to pause and be grateful for this opportunity to be the principal. I am so proud of all of you, our amazing students and our parents/guardians. I want to also take the time to personally acknowledge the work of the administration team this week. Johana, David, Manny and Liz are each tremendously talented and together, they are the Super Friends. They make each day so enjoyable. Let's get to some main points for the week.
A. Upcoming FAC. I will be meeting with your Union Rep soon to create the agenda for our Oct. 23rd meeting. Please let your representatives know of any concerns.
B. Safety Drills. Manny will be sending updated information regarding the two days of drills. Start preparing the students. Make sure they take it seriously!.
C. Social Luncheon. This Friday is our first Social Luncheon in the library. Bring your food or order Pollo Grill (LINK). Just pay Karina by Thursday morning. The food is delicious and supports our local vendors. Plus, the owner is a Sweetwater grad! The schedule will be a little different as we plan to expand the lunch time this Friday. Here is a possible rough draft of the schedule (we took some time from the extended passing periods. No class time is affected). And remember... You cannot talk about work!

This week's Titan Challenge: This week, I will send a positive note home with a student who has been struggling, but has shown improvement!
I care deeply about the staff. We give so much of ourselves to our students and parents. Take time for balance and reflection.
Self-Care Challenge: Make time for the Social Luncheon this Friday. Talk to a staff member you have not really spent time with and ask this very important question, Tell me something about you that I might not know already.
