Navigating our Car Drop Off and Pick Up Lane

Please take a moment to view our helpful video on navigating our school parking lot car lane. Please keep in mind, that there are a lot cars, students and adults. Please be patient as you enter our school parking lot and drop off and pick up lane.

Related, the curb closest to the school is also a fire lane and a painted yellow curb. You can not park and get out of your car at anytime.

Thank you for helping keep everyone safe in and around CVE!

Help Wanted!

Are looking to spend time here at CVE possibly volunteering in your child's classroom? How about being here and getting paid! We are looking for an additional Noon Supervisor. The position is 3 hours per day with hours 11:00 - 2:00. You can visit the district website to apply. The posting number is 4112. You are welcome to contact Mr. Helberg with questions or if you are interested,

Who Let the Dogs Out!

We know you started singing when you read that title! ;-)

We would request you refrain from bringing your dog/pets with you when you walk with your child to school in mornings and/or afternoons. We have some students who are afraid of dogs and in some cases, not everyone is cleaning up after their family friend. Thank you for your understanding.

Cross Walks and School Safety Patrol

I would that all adults use the cross walks at the 4 corners (Highview and 175th Street) and wait to cross until our school safety patrol students are present. We use this intersection to cross students over to CVE. We do not have any students cross at the intersection directly in front of CVE at Honeysuckle and 175th street. Also, please use the cross walks in front of the school if you are parking your car and meeting your child on the sidewalk in front of the school.

School Bus Expectations & Here Comes the Bus App

Here is a link to a video the elementary principals created to support a safe and respectful ride to and from school. Each of our students have or will get a chance to view these expectations as well.

Here Comes the Bus

Lakeville Area Schools is rolling out a new school bus tracking system called Here Comes the Bus. This easy-to-use mobile app and website allows families to see the real-time location of their child's school bus on a smartphone, tablet or computer. This is possible through GPS technology installed on Schmitty & Sons buses. Here Comes the Bus also allows you to get push notifications and email alerts when the bus gets close to your child's bus stop.

School Visitors and Guidance

We are excited to welcome our students and families back to school for a great year of learning. Your child’s safety and the safety of all students and staff are our top priority. Please review the following guidelines for school visitors and volunteers.

  • Visitor Management System: All school visitors are welcome by making an appointment through your child's classroom teacher. Visitors to elementary buildings are required to check in at the vestibule welcome center.

  • Visitors should bring their state-issued identification cards so our office staff can collect necessary information from the visitor.

  • Visitors are required to wear a visitor badge, given out by the office visibly for the duration of their time in the school building.

  • Before exiting the building, visitors are asked to return their visitor badge to the office and swipe their ID on the way out of the school building at the visitor management system in the vestibule.

    • No unscheduled persons will be allowed in the building during student hours including during arrival and dismissal.

    • No visitors will be allowed for lunch.

    • Items that need to be delivered to students can be left in the vestibule by placing your child's name and teacher's name on the item. Place the item in the black cart in the vestibule. The cart will be checked periodically throughout the day.

  • School drop-off/pick-up: Please follow the parking lot instructions and outdoor pick-up guidance from your school principal to ensure parking lot safety and efficiency for our school buses, individual drivers, and walkers.

  • School events: Family members are encouraged to participate in our school events and activities throughout the school year. These events and activities are communicated through our school newsletters and are shared on our school websites and social media platforms.

  • Volunteering: Parents/guardians are encouraged to volunteer in our schools. You can contact your child’s teacher or principal to learn more about what opportunities may be available, including serving on the PTO and volunteering in a classroom. All volunteers must follow health and safety guidelines employed by the district. All volunteers working in our building or with students or staff must first agree and sign the “Elementary Agreement and Guidelines for Volunteers” form. This form needs to be completed each school year. The form can be found here.

    • Volunteers will be allowed to work with students or chaperone field trips.

    • Entry to the building will be limited to scheduled volunteers/prearranged visitors only.

  • Prearrange parent/guardian meetings: Our teachers and administrators are invested in your child's success and are willing to meet in person with you/your children. Parents/guardians are encouraged to prearrange meetings so our staff can be best prepared to support you/your child.

We appreciate your support and partnership with these guidelines.

Important End of the Day Procedure

Due to heavy volume in the front office, we cannot check out students from 3:30-3:50. We do this to ensure we get each child where they need to be. We appreciate you waiting until the end of the day to pick up your child.

NEW Free School Meals Program

The Minnesota Free School Meal Program will begin this school year! This program will provide free breakfast and lunch for all K-12 students in Minnesota on school days.

A la carte items will still be available to students for a fee, just like they are now. Your child's account will need funds available to purchase ala carte items. Money can be added to the account via cash, check or online payment through LinQ Connect.

Make sure to still apply for Educational Benefits

While meals are free, we still strongly encourage families who qualify for Educational Benefits to fill out an application for the school year. This ensures that qualifying families will still receive discounts on other educational programs and fees, and ensures that our school doesn’t lose critical funding for students.

District Support Center for Student iPads

The District Support Center for Information Technology (DSC-IT) is here to support students, families and staff with their technology questions and needs. In most cases, students can have their technology issues addressed in their schools' media center.

However, students might run into issues at home with their school-issued iPads or troubles logging into services like Schoology or Seesaw. This is where DSC-IT can help.

Students, families and staff are encouraged to submit a ticket to the Incident IQ ticketing system.
