Literacy Leaders Miniconference & Work Day*
Literacy Leaders Mini-conference
Saturday, Dec. 2, 9am - 12pm
Morning breakout sessions from GKCWP teachers will highlight reading and writing strategies for elementary, secondary and content area teachers. This is a great way to introduce colleagues to the GKCWP. Open to all k-12 teachers.
*Optional afternoon Work Day meeting for GKCWP teachers interested in site leadership. Stipends for full-day participation.
Scholastic Writing Awards
The annual writing contest for students grades 7-12 will open on September 1 and close January 5. Students can submit entries in more than 10 different categories, including short story, poetry and critical essay. Go to www.artandwriting.org to get started.
Teachers interested in serving as a judge, can sign up here for the virtual scoring event, Saturday, January 14.
Write to Learn Conference
March 7-8, Columbia, MO
The Missouri Writing Projects Network will offer our own strand at the conference. Consider submitting a proposal by September 30 for your chance to be a featured presenter. MWPN presenters will receive registration fees and a $350 stipend.
