COLT Poetry Recitation Contest!
Celebrate World Languages!
Language Students Needed!
Strong Middle School needs three students (one for French, Latin, and Spanish) to represent the school in the COLT Poetry Contest. Participating students will memorize a short poem in the target language and recite it in front of judges. As a part of the event, there will be entertainment, snacks, prizes, and an opportunity to meet language students from all over Connecticut!
33rd Poetry Recitation Contest
Monday, March 17th, 2:30-7pm
1615 Stanley Street
New Britain, CT
Students need to be present at least until 5 p.m. If you know now that you are not available on this date (it is a Monday), please do not volunteer to be Strong's representative for the contest.
How Can I Participate?
There will be a Read Off during FLEX on Wednesday, January 22nd to determine who will represent Strong at the Contest. Copies of the poems are available from your language teacher. You don't have to have the poem memorized by this date, but you should practice reading for pronunciation. Contact your teacher with any questions!
