Laura Cobb!

Way to go, Laura Cobb! Ms. Cobb is a 5th grade Reading teacher at Fuentes, and we could not be more fortunate to have her on our staff. The moment we interviewed her four years ago, we knew she was a Star! Not only is Ms. Cobb a phenomenal teacher, but she also works tirelessly to make sure our Fuentes Stars have opportunities beyond the standard classroom experience. She leads the Yearbook/Photography, and Girlstart programs. She is a lending hand, a listening ear, and a great role model for our students.

Here are a few things her students have said about her:

"She helps me when I ask for help no matter what, and then I can answer questions." - Keyon

"She is a good teacher and she really respects me like I'm an adult." - Ajah

Closed Campus for STAAR testing

STAAR testing is scheduled for April 25, May 2, and May 9. We will be a "closed campus" on those dates, which means we cannot have any visitors at all on the campus at all during the day. Families may walk children to class, but we cannot have visitors for lunch or any other reason.

Early Pick-Up and Transportation Changes

Please remember that 2:00pm is the deadline to pick up children early from school. Also, if you need to make a transportation change, please call the front office directly before 1:00pm so that we have plenty of time to ensure the teachers know about changes. Please do not contact teachers directly to make transportation changes because you run the risk of the teacher not getting your message in time for dismissal.

Parking Lot Safety

Reminder - Please note and follow the signage in the front parking lot indicating that the front parking row is closed to vehicles between 6:50am-7:15am and 2:15pm-3:30pm. Please make sure anyone who picks up your child knows the safety protocols. This is to ensure safety of our students walking during drop-off and pick-up hours.

Lost and Found Items

If your child is missing an item (clothing, water bottle, etc.), please have him/her check the "lost and found." All unclaimed items will be donated on March 31.

Free Healthcare

Lirios Pediatrics is a free clinic for kids who are uninsured. Check out their website https://www.liriospediatrics.org/

2022-2023 Yearbooks For Sale

YEARBOOKS ARE NOW FOR SALE! Buy yours today! Yearbooks are $25 and parent messages are only $5! Use the QR code below. Email Laura.Cobb@hayscisd.net if you have questions.

Looking for Lanyard Donations!

If you have extra "break-away" lanyards for ID badges that you would like to donate, we will take them! Please feel free to drop them in the front office! We're trying to not have to charge students for lanyards because they tend to break, but at the replacement rate, we might have to charge!

Student ID Badges

Almost all students now have a student ID. Badges are to be worn at all times.

Bus riders have 2 - one stays on the backpack and one stays on the child at school. Badges should not leave school, but please make sure your child returns with the badge if s/he accidentally takes it home.

If a child needs to replace the badge, the cost is $5.

Reminder Text Messages

Never worry about missing an email. You can get text messages for updates and reminders now from Fuentes by joining our Remind text group.

Simply text the message - @fuentesfam - to 81010. You will then receive text messages from us - so much easier and faster to receive than emails.
