Willow Springs Orchestra Newsletter
March 30, 2017
Parents,
The Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestra students did a FANTASTIC job at their clinic last Friday night. Thank you for allowing them to stay with us and really work to fine tune our UIL music for our performance NEXT WEEK! We are in need of volunteers to help move the cellos and basses. So please email Mrs. Gearhart if you are able to help out!
See below for information on UIL performances. All permission forms are due this week! ALL students MUST turn in their permission slip in order to attend UIL. Parents we welcome you to come out and hear our performance at McKinney North HS, if you can make it, we would love to have you there!
Our next concert is quickly approaching on May 1st. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at LHS. We are looking forward to performing some fun pop music for you that evening!
If you have any questions please let us know!

Orchestra Solo Festival!
Orchestra Solo Festival
This is a great way to get feedback about your playing from orchestra directors in our area! This solo festival is open to all 6th – 8th graders. You will perform for a judge and receive a rating and comments. Medals and ribbons will be awarded based on ratings.
When: Monday, April 17, 2017
Time: 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: Willow Springs Fine Arts Area
If you are interested in participating in the Solo Festival, you will need the following things:
· A Solo – The original copy of the music is required so that you can have something for the judge to follow along.
(If a director provides you with solo, we will have the original, otherwise, please consult your private teacher for a copy.)
· An Accompanist – Your private teacher or parent will need to help you arrange this.
Beginner Students will perform with a CD accompaniment, unless you have received a solo from a private lesson teacher.
· A completed entry form
Once we have received everyone’s entry form, we will create a schedule so that you know when you will be performing.
