Family Update
Week of May 3, 2021
Week of May 3rd - 7th, 2021
Good morning,
This is National Teacher and Staff appreciation week! We will, safely, be celebrating our tremendously hard-working teachers and staff this week. Please extend a word of gratitude when you see them this week!
There have been questions about the delivery of graduation pictures from Van Gogh. I would recommend families calling Van Gogh directly at 847-382-2282. The school office will make a call today, too, and I will post the information from that on Class Dojo Monday afternoon.
Congratulations to the Westberry/Henderson, Rice/Fenn, and Welch/Maldonado families! You have won a $50 gift card! Please call the office on Monday to claim your prize!
Registration still remains at the top of the list. As we return to full in-person instruction for the 2021-2022 school year, seats are limited. At this point, no deposit is needed to get your child's seat reserved; we will add it to the contract for later payment The first step will be to complete the registration Google form. Please click the link here.
After families complete the Google registration form, the packet with more extensive paperwork will be emailed out. Please return those as soon as possible. Contracts will follow. Thanks for your patience as we get those prepared.
Registration is open to new families, too. Do you know a new family, especially a preschool or kindergarten family? You will receive a $300 referral credit for any new family that registers! We are looking to enroll new preschoolers and kindergarteners for next year! Do you know anyone with 3, 4, or 5-year-olds? You could receive a special referral credit! Let us know.
Spring is here along with unsettled weather. Please remember that students do need to be in uniform and following the dress code in relation to shoes, hair, and fingernails. Please refer to your family handbook linked here. See pages 24 and 25.
On May 11th, Mr. Shaka Rawls, the principal of Leo High School will be meeting virtually with our 6th and 7th boys and their families at 5 pm. Please hold the date! There will be prizes while families learn more about why Leo High School is a terrific choice!
Our Family Virtual Title I night is date has changed. This fun family night is now scheduled for May 12th at 5:30. The items are a bit late arriving! We will notify e-learners when to come to pick up their kids! This is a free event for families of K-8 students. Students and their families will receive 1 kit per child (grade appropriate) with many different activities. We will unbox the great activities with you and send you off to work with your families! For the remainder of the school year, students will enter the school at the main doors upon arrival. If you are escorting your child to the main entrance, please be sure you are wearing a mask. Our goal is to keep everyone safe!
