Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences Continue This Week

Mission teachers are looking forward to sharing with you your child's academic progress. It is important that you log in on time. Later this week, you will receive our updated School Parent/Caregiver Compact, which outlines how parents, school staff and students share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement.

Important Student Re-Entry Meetings on Monday, October 19

In preparation to students returning to school, we will be holding two parent meetings to share Mission student re-entry plan and the procedures students, families and staff will need to follow when we return on November 9. We are scheduling two similar meetings with translation, one from 10:00-11:00 AM and one 5:00-6:00 PM. We will send Zoom links by the 19th.

Would you like to be part of Mission's School Site Council?

Being a School Site Council (SSC) member is a great opportunity to learn more about our students, their needs and help make decision that impact leaning at Mission. Mission SSC meets 4-5 times a year to review, revise, monitor and approve our school plan and budget. If you would like to be part of SSC, please complete this short interest questionnaire (link).

Outdoor Enrichment Opportunities for Students

This Fall, youth from anywhere in San Diego County can explore the outdoors while safely creating friendships, building community, and developing leadership skills for all of life’s explorations. Couseling Services

Take a look at our Counseling Corner monthly newsletter (link) which highlights the social-emotional learning theme of October: Self-Management. Information and resources are provided to reinforce this theme in class and at home. October is also bullying prevention month. Resources to talk to your child about standing up to bullying are included. Additionally, please remind your student about Lunch Bunch! It is a great way to socialize with peers that would normally be together during lunch and recess time. Ask Ms. Kutches, or your student's teacher for the Zoom login information. Weekly times are as follows:

- 2nd and 3rd grade: Tuesdays 1:00 - 1:30

- 4th and 5th grade: Fridays 12:50 - 1:20
