Goodyear & PTO Recognize Carole Torrice

The Goodyear PTO refurbished the school sign at the corner of Montvale Ave. and Central St. over the summer. At a small gathering on Friday, October 9, the school and the PTO rededicated the new sign to Carole Torrice.

Ms. Torrice was a longtime teacher at the Goodyear and remains a part of our school community as a volunteer and by supporting school events. She maintains a strong relationship with the Goodyear staff and we miss her visits during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The recognition comes one year after the Goodyear dedicated its Professional Learning Center in memory of former Principal Edward Callahan. We are proud to honor those who have impacted the Goodyear and their families.

Halloween

Students are encouraged to dress as a literary character and share a book with their class in lieu of a Halloween costume. Cohort A students may participate on Tuesday, October 27th and Cohort B students may participate on Friday, October 30th.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not hold an all-school parade nor will there be food-based classroom parties.

Health Communication

Please contact Nurse Doherty if anyone in your family tests positive for COVID-19 and/or is under quarantine. The health and safety of all families in our community is our first priority. If your child will be out of school due to quarantine or other health-related reasons, please contact Mr. Kessaris to create a remote learning plan.

All Massachusetts students are required to have a flu vaccine administered by December 31, 2020. Families must provide documentation of the administration of the vaccine to Nurse Doherty.

All grade four students must have documentation of their most recent physical exam on file with Nurse Doherty as well.
