4th Grade SALT Food Drive

Our 4th Grade SALT program is hosting their annual food drive beginning Monday, Oct. 25th through Friday, Nov. 5th. Please help the 4th grade reach their goal of collecting 4,000 lbs of food by bringing non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves for the OK Regional Food Bank. Please make sure that items will not expire soon, and make an effort to send food that you would also like to eat. Thank you!

Halloween Parties, Costumes, etc 🎃

Halloween parties are Friday, Oct. 29th. Teachers have reached out to homeroom parents regarding party time and needs.

As a treat this year, ALL students may wear free dress or costumes on Friday the 29th. Free dress guidelines regarding appropriate dress still apply. If a child’s clothing/costume is deemed as not having followed the rules, parents may be called to bring a change of clothing. www.steugeneschool.org/free-dress-guidelines

Teachers MAY send directions specific to their classes regarding costumes such as wearing it over other clothing, bringing a labeled bag for costumes for later in the day, etc. Some teachers may allow students to wear costumes all day long. Please follow the rules below in addition to your teacher's rules.

Rules:

  • No Full Face Masks or Face Paint - students must still wear their proper PPE face covering

  • No Hair Coloring (wigs are okay)

  • Nothing Gory, Scary, or Inappropriate for school

  • No Weapons

  • Must not interfere with the function of the school day (ex. no noisy or oversized costumes that prevent sitting at a desk)

Safe & Sacred Curriculum

Sometime during the weeks of October 18 - 29, during your child’s regular religious education time, the Safe and Sacred curriculum will be taught. The aim of this program is to teach children how to be safe, protect themselves, and communicate any potential danger. In the Church’s desire to help keep your children safe, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City requires that all children and young people participating in religious education in any parish or Catholic school in the Archdiocese, receive this instruction. Please be on the lookout for an email going home this week with more detailed information. If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to review the curriculum, please contact Mrs. Ison at sison@steugeneschool.org.

8th Grade Fundraiser

Help support our St. Eugene 8th Grade Class by purchasing CSSE spiritwear eagle hats and the ever-popular, super durable trash bags! Proceeds from this hat and trash bag sale will help the CSSE 8th Grade Class pay for their year-end trip to Camp Classen as well as the traditional class gift to the school and/or parish.

Orders and payments are due by Friday, November 19th.

If you have any questions, email Jen Taylor at jmjtaylor79@gmail.com

Please Pray For...

Please pray for the healing of Jim Willett, Mrs. Teague’s father. He is in the hospital and needs prayers. | Please pray for Kim Ward, mother of Ashlyn & Ava. She is recovering after surgery. | Please pray for the healing of Dub Wheeler, grandfather or Gehrig and Gabby. He has numerous medical issues, and needs the extra prayers. | Continues to pray for the healing of Nick Aguilera, nephew of Mrs. Goldsworthy and alum of CSSE. He has continued to improve in outpatient therapy. | While the school has a minimal number of classroom-induced quarantines, we still have students, parents and even staff who have experienced exposures and positive cases. Please pray for them. | Pray for those in our community struggling to recover from COVID-19 | Pray for those who have perished to COVID-19 and their families who are grieving the loss of these loved ones. | Pray for our staff, students, and their families. May God grant us all patience and wisdom as we navigate the beginning of a new school year. Help us put our faith first and give grace to all.

If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at media@steugeneschool.org.
