What's Happening at the "D"
V5 #8 2018/2019
A note from the Principal...
As a result of the inclement weather, the date for the electronic distribution of report cards have been revised. To provide teachers the necessary time to complete report cards, the semester report cards will now be sent out to all parents by the end of the day on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. The report card will be sent electronically to all parents that signed up for a secure PowerSchool Parent Portal account.
The Michigan weather has been quite active lately! That has not stopped the learning and fun happening at School! The mid-year point is always a time for us as a staff to reflect on how the first part of the year has gone, celebrate our success, and adjust things that we could improve!
We are continuing our journey in creating a Culture of Thinking and have been actively tracking our progress and trying new things. We are continuing with our Pod Pals this semester and building relationships. Keep an eye out soon for a parent survey so we can get your feedback on our school!
With gratitude,
Mary Beth Merlo

Parking Lot Safety
I have heard some concerns from parents lately about parents not following the flow of traffic. If you would like to park on the left side of the parking lot, please follow proper traffic flow and drive through the parking lot. A diagram of traffic flow is attached.
As a reminder:
~The flow of traffic is one way.
~Driving to the parking lot behind the building is NOT allowed, no student drop off in the back of the building.
~Please be courteous to other drivers, kids are most likely within earshot and modeling patience will benefit their learning.
Thank you! :)
