Boonsboro Middle School
Connect! Inspire! Achieve!
From the Principal
This school year you can expect that your child will be asked to read, write, think, and talk about complex topics in order to problem solve. Though it can be difficult to predict the future paths our students will choose, or even the careers that will be in high-demand when they are ready to enter the work force, those with a strong foundation of these skills will always be employable.
As parents, the most important thing you can do to help your child succeed is ensure that they are in school on time every day. Certainly, we understand that circumstances occur that prevent attendance, but it is difficult to make up the instruction that is missed.
Throughout the year, I encourage you to keep open lines of communication with us so we can build a strong partnership for your child's success. In this newsletter you will find additional information that will be helpful.

Transportation Information
Bus Information:
Click here to look up your child's bus information. Please help your student know which bus he/she rides. A student cannot ride a different bus without having a Transportation Location Change form completed and approved by WCPS Transportation Department.Parent Drop/Off and Pickup
Our doors do not open until 8:15 am. Please do not drop off your child before 8:15 as we do not have staff on duty and therefore are unable to supervise any students. In the afternoon, parent pick ups are dismissed at 3:30. Parents generally line up in the staff parking lot and students will use the cross walk when crossing the bus lane. Walkers are also dismissed at 3:30.
Additional Information
As you are aware, traffic can be extremely heavy throughout the school year. This is especially true during the first few weeks of school. We dismiss at the same time as the high school and that means over 1600 students are leaving our campus at the same time. Please have patience with us as we work with the high school to get into a routine. For our sixth grade parents the biggest help you can give us is to review your child’s bus information with them before the start of the school year.
