Monday - Elementary Winter Concert

Hi Parents,

We are excited to invite you to our Elementary Winter concert on December 9th. Lower elementary classes will be performing starting at 5:30pm. Please have your students here by 5:15pm to get set up. Upper elementary classes will perform starting at 7:00pm. Please have them here by 6:45pm to get set up.

Each student should wear black on the bottom (pants/skirts/etc.) and a solid color shirt (their shirt does not need to have a collar). Some classes will be dancing, so have your kids wear comfortable shoes. Please email Ms. Sarah with any questions. Thank you!

Friday - Junior High Winter Feast

We are having a junior high feast on December 13th, 11:00am-1:00pm. Each child will bring a dish to share. Parents, you are invited to come join us! Expect, if you have not already gotten one, an email from your child's advisory teacher. Please email Ms.Dore with questions.

Lost and Found

Please go through the lost and found in the front lobby of school to retrieve your children's belongings. There is quite a pile there. We are donating any unclaimed items to a local organization over winter break. Claim those items this week and next or lose them forever!

MMA to Present at UT Conference!

Congratulations to five of our staff members: Ms. Shauna, Ms. AmyJo, Ms.Mikaela, Ms. Karen, and Ms. Nicoletta who got accepted to present at the 45th annual Utah Early Childhood Conference at Weber State in March. They will be doing a group presentation for 90 minutes about Montessori education beginning from Early Childhood through the development of Lower Elementary, and including how to integrate all learners.

Montessori Lingo

Do you ever wonder what your child is talking about when they come home? What is this lingo that they are speaking? This is a great resource of Montessori terminology a library of terms:

Exercises of Practical Life

One of the four areas of activities of the Montessori prepared environment. The exercises of Practical Life resemble the simple work of life in the home: sweeping, washing dishes, as examples. These purposeful activities help the child to adapt to his new community, learn self-control and begin to see their self as a contributing part of the social unit. Their intellect grows as they work with their hands; their personality becomes integrated as body and mind function as a unit.

Grace and Courtesy

An aspect of Practical Life. Little lessons which demonstrate positive social behavior help the child to adapt to life in a group and arm therm with knowledge of socially acceptable behavior, practical information, useful both in and out of school.
