NWEA Assessment Begins Tuesday
Students will be given a variety of end of year assessments in May. While a variety of assessments are scattered throughout the month, specifically, NWEA Math MAP will be given on Tuesday, May 3rd and Thursday, May 5th. This is for students in kindergarten and 1st grade only, so if your student is in Developmental Kindergarten (DK), NWEA Assessments do not apply.
"MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in Kâ12 math, reading, language usage, and science. It provides teachers with accurate, and actionable evidence to help target instruction for each student or groups of students regardless of how far above or below they are from their grade level. It also connects to the largest set of instructional content providers, giving educators flexibility in curriculum choices." (https://www.nwea.org/map-growth/)
Attendance, a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast are important for success. Children might be nervous about assessments, so we try to encourage them to have a growth mindset and to just do their best. Assessments results will be shared with report cards on the last day of school.
