Hello Bobier Bronco Families,
The 2021-2022 school year is off to a great start!
Please mark your calendars! This week, in addition to Monday’s minimum day, we will also have a minimum day on Wednesday, September 15th. Please make arrangements to pick up your students on Wednesday at 12:51.
Please join us for our first event of the year also on Wednesday, September 15th. Please head to Coyote Cafe for breakfast, lunch, or dinner - eat great food with friends and family and support Bobier at the same time! You can dine-in or take out - just show our flyer and a portion of the money you spend at the restaurant comes back to the Bobier PTA to support our school and programs. We can’t wait to see you there! Thank you for your support!
All students and staff continue to be diligent in wearing masks indoors, washing hands, and staying in their cohorts. We appreciate your continued patience during arrival and dismissal - everything is running smoothly now. Please remember to pull all the way forward and drive slowly. Please also remember to send your students with water bottles labeled with their names. The drinking fountains are turned off this year due to health and safety restrictions. There are water filling stations throughout the school. Donations of water bottles would be greatly appreciated for students who may not have a water bottle on campus with them. If you can donate bottles of water, please bring them to the main office. Thank you!
Each week we will provide updates in our S’More weekly newsletter to keep our Bobier families informed about any new COVID positive cases on campus. In lieu of sending a letter to all parents every time we have a new case, we will provide updates here in our weekly S’More “Bobier Bronco Blast.”
Covid-19 Weekly Reporting at Bobier Elementary
In order to keep our families informed on Covid-19 cases in our school, we will be utilizing the following procedures:
All families will be notified weekly of our Covid-19 cases in this section of the Bobier Bronco Blast S’More newsletter. Our newsletter goes out every Sunday evening.
If your student is identified as a "close contact" of a Covid-19 positive person on campus, you will be notified immediately by email, text, and phone and will be provided directions for quarantine.

Important Health and Safety Information
We need everyone’s help to keep students in school during this pandemic:
Do not send your child to school if they are having any symptoms or are starting to get symptoms.
If you child or anyone in your home is awaiting a COVID test due to symptoms please do not send your child to school
Our decision tree guidelines have been updated by the county. We are asking all of our Bobier families to work with us in preventing the spread of Covid-19, and keeping our school open for in-person learning. Our ability to remain open and prevent the spread relies on all of our staff and families adhering strictly to these guidelines. If your child or any member of your household does become ill with COVID-19, we ask that you notify us immediately.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL AND CONTACT OUR OFFICE IMMEDIATELY:
If your child has ANY of the symptoms listed on the decision tree guidelines.
If your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive, they should NOT return to in-person learning until given a return date by our nursing staff. This includes exposure to someone living in the home that is positive.
If you are awaiting a Covid test result for your child, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE NEGATIVE RESULT.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES MAY CAUSE UNNECESSARY QUARANTINES FOR ADDITIONAL STUDENTS
If you are unsure if you should keep your child home, we ask that you err on the side of caution and contact our nursing staff for more guidance. The support of all our families with this protocol will help us keep our bobcats safe and in school learning!
Quarantines and Contact Tracing
Quarantines and Contact Tracing continue this year. Children with symptoms may be required to quarantine and positive cases may require class quarantines and pivots to virtual learning. Just in case, please be prepared by keeping your emergency contacts up to date. Do not send your child to school sick and if anyone in the family is positive for COVID-19 please inform our office right away.
Masks are required for all parents and visitors coming onto campus. Students should arrive at school with a mask daily to ensure they have a mask for inside the classroom. Students and staff will be able to remove their masks when leaving the classroom and during recess, lunch, and navigating campus.
Please send a clean mask with your child and a reusable water bottle daily with your child each day.
Please review and complete our Student Health Check with your child before coming to school each day. We need to ensure students are healthy and free of any symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, runny nose, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, or body aches)
Families, please keep us informed about the following:
If you notice any symptoms, please keep your child at home. Notify the school immediately.
If you have taken a test and it is positive, please inform the school immediately.
If you have taken a test and are awaiting the results, please keep your child at home until you receive the results.
If your child has taken a test and is awaiting the results, please keep your child home until you receive the results.
If you have been exposed to someone who tested positive, please keep your child at home and inform the school immediately.

PTA Fundraiser at the Coyote Cafe!!
~Support our school and a small business by grabbing some delicious food at the Coyote Cafe!~
You can support our school and its PTA by doing any of the following:
- Participate in fundraisers
- Become a PTA member
- Purchase school spirit wear
You can join our PTA online through Totem HERE . Membership is $8 for the whole year. Cash payments can be made in the front office. Use a PTA envelope, fill in the information, and place the envelope in the PTA mailbox.
Spirit wear order forms are available in the front office. Cash and checks are accepted. After filling out the form and attaching your payment, you can place it inside the PTA mailbox.

Attendance - Teachers will be taking attendance each day. School starts promptly at 8am. Please arrive between 7:40 and 7:55 a.m. To report an absence please call Martha (760) 724-8501 extension 55009.
Office Hours - To ensure all staff are supporting with arrival and dismissal our office will be closed and available by phone only during the following times:
Front office will be closed daily 7:30-8:10am
Front office will be closed Mondays 12:45-1:20pm
Front office will be closed Tuesday-Friday 1:55-2:30pm

- Bell Schedule - Please note every Monday is minimum day and student dismissal is at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday through Friday dismissal is at 2:18. TK and Kindergarten students begin dismissal 10 minutes early. If you are picking up a TK / Kindergarten student, please arrive at 2:08. If you have a 1st-5th grade student, please arrive later as they do not dismiss until 2:18. This will help with our traffic congestion. If your students are in 3rd-4th or 5th, grade and don’t have any younger siblings, please drive down to the lower parking lot to pick them up from there.
- Late Pickup: Students that are not picked up by 2:40 p.m. will be moved to an outdoor area inside of the school to wait for their families. Parents/guardians must go through the front office to fill out the late-pickup sheet and show ID.
September’s Capturing Kids Hearts Theme: RESPECT. Bobier students will learn how showing Respect for themselves, their classmates and their school will help build feelings of trust, safety and personal wellbeing. This will be demonstrated through treating others the way you want to be treated, being polite to others, and discussing problems in a way that makes others feel heard/understood.
Our motto this month: “Respect is a two way street...it should go both ways.”
September also brings about the Attendance Awareness month campaign here at Bobier (The Great Attendance Race). Students will learn about the importance and value of arriving at school on time, everyday. Please help remind your students that classes begin at 8:00am and everyone must arrive before that first bell.

Mr. E supports students with social skills classroom lessons, small groups, and 1:1 if needed. He can also refer to outside agencies or resources if needed.
Our TK/Kindergarten students who were absent the prior testing date will be given the ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessments for California) on Monday September 13th. Please make sure that your student is well rested so they feel ready to do their best. Are you a parent of an English learner? If so, we would love for you to join our ELAC! (English Language Advisory Committee). ELAC meets about 4-5 times a year and is an important group of parents that help advise the school community. No experience necessary- just a caring heart for students! Employment Opportunity - Noon Duty / Instructional Aides
The district is still in need of more Noon Duties and Instructional Aides at elementary schools. We currently have openings for Bobier Elementary School if you would like to work for a few hours daily supervising our on campus students for recess and lunch. The Noon Duty Application can be found HERE.

Parent Room/Emergency Food Pantry
Parent Room/Emergency Food Pantry
Our school has a parent room that houses our Bobier Closet and our new Emergency Food Pantry.
Non-perishable food will be available for family emergencies. Parents can submit a Google Form (link below) or come to the office to submit a request. This is for immediate need as families are working toward finding other resources. Our goal is to avoid any student from going hungry.
We will try our best to fulfill your order. We are always on the lookout for additional partners/donors. Please be patient while we work out the logistics.
**Due to the pantry's small size, please do not use the order form more than twice a month.
**If the form is unavailable, that means that we have reached capacity. It should reopen once we have the resources. Orders are accepted throughout the week. You will receive a text when your bag is ready in the front office.
Whether it's a temporary or ongoing situation, if your family has a need for food, hygiene items, school supplies, and/or clothing, the school will do its best to provide some help. Please contact our community liaison, Olga - firstname.lastname@example.org, if you need assistance.
Food4Kids Permission Slips
**If your child received a referral to our Food4Kids program, permission slips were sent home. Please return these to school if you wish to participate in the program. If you need an another copy, stop by the front office and ask for Ms. Olga. Starting next week, permission slips will be sent home with additional students. Spots will be filled based on a first come first serve basis.**
We accept donations! We are currently in need of:
- boys shorts/pants
- non-perishable food items
Donations can be dropped off at the front office. Any help is appreciated!! All donations benefit fellow Broncos.
**A special shout-out to Mrs. Denning for donating water bottles to our school! They helped Broncos make it through this week's heat wave.
