Happy Birthday Sofia!
HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY SOFIA!!!
Tracing a Baby Triceratop!
I Spy with My Little Eyes
Ms. Ginni loved to see our faces full of excitement when we discovered some of the tiny dinosaurs.
Tracing my favorite Dinosaur
We loved this new drawing activity and Ms. Ginni thinks there are many exciting new things we could try together using this method to practice our fine motor skills.
Oscar's Stegosaurus!
Oscar brought this week a GROW DINOSAUR (Expandable water dinosaur or Grow-in-water dinosaur), to share with the rest of the class.
This dinosaur can expand up to 500% of his original mass or volume after putting it into water for several days.
When the dinosaur came to our classroom we put him in a measuring cup full of water but... by Wednesday, we had to change him to a bigger container because he was tooo big!!
Now we have a Stegosaurus growing in our classroom!!!! Let's see how big he will be this Monday...
Thank you for sharing this really cool experiment with us Oscar!
Learning with LEGO blocks
These sturdy plastic blocks have huge intrinsic educational value. Along with the obvious creative implications, while children play with LEGO blocks, they are also building their spatial and proportional awareness. Remember that it is these skills which lay foundations for later math learning.
At home I encourage you to use LEGO bricks with your child and take some time exploring how they work. Count the studs, explore the dimensions, build some towers. And I guarantee, you’ll be creating future engineers!!!
Alphabet Surprise!
In the next weeks we are going to try to sequence the alphabet, hop from letter to letter, spell simple words and more.
Jurassic Math
Ms. Ginni used this activity to evaluate our math skills.
POM POM ROARRR!!!
Children used their fingers or plastic tweezers to place the different colored pom poms onto the matching colors on the play mats.
Our Dinosaur Names in a Headband
Once they had their names ready, they were ready to use dinosaur stamps to decorate their headbands
We Love the Dinosaur Stomp!! GO NOODLE video of this week.
PK 3.1 students love “Dinosaur Stomp,” and “Ants in My Pants” most of all. They also love seeing McPufferson, our classroom Champ, grow when they level up!
Try it at home...it's free!!! www.gonoodle.com
