Latinx Heritage Month
In honor of the last week of Latinx Heritage Month we are highlighting an amazing teacher, Jaime Escalante.
Jaime Escalante was a Bolivian-American educator known for teaching students advanced math and calculus for nearly twenty years in East Los Angeles. Escalante believed that all students are capable of achieving great things and his dedication served as an inspiration for a movie that was made to share his story. Escalante devoted his career to making sure every one of his students received a quality education and inspired countless numbers of students and teachers along the way.
Quote from Jaime Escalante
"I tell my students, you do not enter the future -- you create the future. The future is created through hard work."
