Sherman ISD Welcomes New Food Service Director

We are pleased to introduce Amanda (Mandy) Stephens as Sherman ISD’s new Food Service Director. Mandy will lead the Food Service Administrative team, oversee daily food service department operations, set menus, develop culinary strategies and ensure compliance with federal program guidelines.

Mandy joins the Sherman ISD team with nearly ten years of direct food service management experience. In her previous roles, she led the catering department at the Dallas Museum of Art, managed the food service production at Capital One Corporation, taught culinary at El Centro College, and privately consulted to establish a new restaurant operation within the Grayson County area. As the district chef at Denison ISD, Mandy established and implemented the catering and culinary strategy for the district, ensured menu compliance, and managed food cost budgets within the program.


Mandy is a certified chef and graduate of Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts. She is native to the Texoma /Bryan County area and currently lives in Kingston, Oklahoma with her husband Adam and daughter Coralie. In her spare time, Mandy enjoys spending time on the lake. Mandy, welcome to the Bearcat family!

OpportUNITY19-Leadership Session With Todd Gongwer

OpportUNITY19 will be an interactive discussion designed to help coaches/administrators understand and overcome today's most pressing issues. Time constraints, social media, current cultural norms and the perceived pressure to win at all costs has changed the game. The leadership session With Todd Gongwer will provide school leaders with practical ways to effectively counter these changes by establishing a culture of leadership excellence. SISD Employee Transfer Window Now Open

The employee transfer window is now open. Employees may request a transfer for the 2019-2020 school year until Friday, May 10, 2019. Employees may not request a lateral transfer for the 2019-2020 school year after May 10, 2019. All lateral transfer decisions should be made by Friday, May 31, 2019. If you have questions about this, please contact the Human Resources Department at 903-891-6410. Please visit with your supervisor prior to requesting a transfer.

Steps for requesting a transfer for the 2019-2020 School Year:


1. Log into the Employee Service Center in TEAMS. Your username and password are the same as your email and network username and password

2. Click on My Employment Record.

3. Click on My Employee Transfer Request.

4. Click on the Job Category.

5. Find the job(s) you are interested in applying for and check the appropriate boxes.

6. Complete all tabs under Transfer Details.

7. Click Submit.

8. If you decide to make any additions or changes to your request, please make sure you remember to hit Submit each time.

Summer School applications are now available!

Employees interested in working summer school may now apply through the Employee Service Center in TEAMS. Teachers wanting to apply for the LEP Pre-K and Kindergarten summer positions should apply for Summer School Teacher- ESL EC-4 or Bilingual EC-4, depending upon their current certification. Summer school dates and pay rates are listed below.


Steps for Applying for Summer School

5. Click on Summer School.

Sherman High School:

Director- $320 Daily Rate- June 3-July 3

Teachers- $240 - full day/ $120 – half day - June 3-July 3

June 3, 2019 will be a planning day for teachers and staff.

Student Schedule- Morning and Afternoon Sessions:

8:00-12:00- 4 hours

12:30-4:30- 4 hours


Piner Middle School and Dillingham Intermediate School:

Director- $240 per day- June 3-June 28

Teachers- $180 per day- June 3-June 28

June 3, 2019 will be a planning day for teachers and staff.

Student Schedule:

8:30-2:30- 6 hours


LEP PreK/ K Summer School:

Director- $280 Daily Rate- May 28- June 27

Teachers- $210 Daily Rate- May 28- June 27

May 28, 2019 will be a planning day for teachers and staff.

Student Schedule:

8:00-3:00


Boot Camp

Lead Teacher: $175 Daily Rate- June 3- July 3

Teacher: $150 per Daily Rate- June 3- July 3

JDC

Teacher: $150 per Daily Rate- June 3- July 3

June 3, 2019 will be a planning day for teachers and staff.

Student Schedule:

ESY

Teacher: $30 per hour - June 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27

Assistant: $15 per hour- June 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27

Student Schedule: 8:30 to 1:30


Attendance Clerks: $14.00 per hour

Classroom Assistants $13.00 per hour (LEP campus only)


Times of Day for Personnel

One the summer school schedule, times for instruction are listed. Staff schedules will be 30 minutes prior to and 30 minutes after the instruction times listed.


Summer School Pay

The pay for all summer school personnel is considered extra duty pay. Personnel will only be paid for days in which they are present. The one exception is for directors that miss a day in case of an urgent and previously approved work-related event.


SISD Employees will only be paid for days worked outside of their regular yearly contract.
