Elementary School Teacher
I am wanting to find a teaching job in Colorado so I appreciate you taking the time view my flyer. I am currently a first grade teacher in Pflugerville ISD; Pflugerville is a suburb of Austin, Texas. My family and I are moving to Colorado in June, as my husband has been relocated to the Denver area with his job at VMware. I am excited for our new adventure in Colorado!
I have 13 years teaching experience. I have taught first, second, and third grades; I have also served as a reading specialist on a primary campus. I would love the opportunity to interview for a position you have on your campus. I have a strong work ethic and a desire to grow as an educator.

Math Small Groups
These two students are engaged in a math game to practice numerical fluency. Each day, I meet with a different math group to work on specific skills that we have targeted. During this time, I take anecdotal records on each student so I know the needs and strengths of each student.
My students are engaged in Daily 5 rotations while I meet with reading groups every day. In my reading group, we work on the necessary skills needed for that group. Here are examples of what I focus on in my reading group: decoding, fluency, high frequency word practice, and comprehension. During this time, I take anecdotal records on each student, which may include a running, so I know the needs and strengths of each student.
For each subject, the power standard in which we are focusing on is posted in the classroom. With these standards written and posted for the students, everyone is aware of what we are learning.
