Message From The Principal
"Together We Swarm" is a slogan that you will be seeing more of this year. It communicates the important messages that our success comes through our collaboration and sense of community. It is no secret that Fort Mill High School is a high achieving school which also boasts a special culture. For us, it is important to note that it is not the magic of our name which makes our people special, but rather it is our people that make the magic.
All week long I've observed smiling teachers, eager to engage and build rapport with their students, greeting them in the hallways between classes. That energy is reflected in students that positively engage with one another before school, at lunch, and throughout the day. Just two weeks in, our students and teachers have found their rhythm and it shows. Our school is bursting with energy, the focus of which is instruction.
The buzz throughout our campus (pardon the pun) is quite real and makes our school a very positive, special place. It has been a great first two weeks and we are looking forward to a great year.
Together We Swarm!

Midterm Progress Reports
Believe it or not, we are rapidly approaching the halfway point of the first 6 week marking period. Monday, September 9th marks the 15th day of school. On Tuesday, September 10th we will distribute hard copy grade reports for marking period 1 (M1) in each block. Be sure to ask your child for their midterm grade report so that you can stay up-to-date on their academic performance. As always, you have access to Parent Portal, which provides real-time access to teacher grade books 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Open House
Thank you to all of the families that participated in Open House on Tuesday night. We believe that this event is a valuable opportunity for families to forge relationships with teachers that yield powerful, positive educational outcomes. Hopefully, those in attendance left with greater insight regarding each teacher's scope of content, academic expectations, procedures, major assignments, and more. We believe that putting the time into face-to-face meetings like Open House lays the groundwork for communication and collaboration all year long.
College Application Day
Fort Mill High School is excited to announce that we will host College Application Day on Tuesday, September 10th. College Application Day is a collaboration between our school and college admissions offices throughout the Carolinas. The event is aimed at assisting our seniors to complete and file college applications. FMHS Counselors and admissions counselors from partnering universities will be on hand to answer questions, provide tips, and help troubleshoot as students submit their applications. Participants will have the opportunity to win college swag, prizes, and more. Some students may have the opportunity to receive application fee waivers from participating colleges.
The event will take place in the Fort Mill High School Learning Commons from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The event is open to current seniors and is capped at 100 participants. Registration is required. To register your senior, click this link.
