BHS Cancer Awareness Passport
The Blythewood High School Cancer Awareness Passport has been collecting tabs from soft drinks for the Ronald McDonald House at Palmetto Health Richland. The pop tabs are recycled by the Ronald McDonald House in exchange for money to help offset the costs for parents who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their child is being treated at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. The passport is still collecting pop tabs.
Also, earlier in the year the group sold cupcakes to raise money for special projects to benefit cancer patients at Palmetto Health Childrens’ Hospital.
While these students could have chosen a passport for fishing, reading, board games, cake decorating, , etc., these students actually chose to be in the Cancer Awareness Passport because of their passion to help others who have cancer. The sponsors of this group are Tracey Baxa, Michele Carson, Crystal Smith, and Amy Whitfield.
The students are still collecting pop tabs. Any donation of tabs may be sent to the Library Cyber Center at Blythewood High School. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Student Elections
We will hold Student Body Elections on Tuesday, April 8th. This is for the positions of Student Body President, Vice-President, and Secretary. We will have separate elections for Class Officers. Those elections will occur on Tuesday, April 29th. We have split the elections up so that someone who loses a contest in the Student Body Elections can still run for a position in the Class Elections. Students in grades 9-11 can vote as long as they have their ID. Seniors cannot vote since this is for NEXT year's student council. Voting is not required. We will again use the Richland County voting machines and all voting will occur in 401.
The candidates for Student Body Officers are as follows:
President:
Paige Durham
Katie Turner
Vice-President:
Meghan Andrews
Felicia Finney
Secretary:
Regan Sadler
