Staff Spotlight - Russell Houston
Russell is a native Texan having grown up and graduated from Fort Stockton. He graduated from Tarleton State University in 1998 with a degree in Kinesiology. He started his coaching career in Red Oak, Texas. After five years, he and his wife moved to central Texas. From 2004-2016 he coached and taught at McCallum High School. In 2017 the two decided to move their family to small town America. Russell is currently in his 6th year at BHS. Coaching and being a positive influence in kids' lives is Russell’s passion. His wife teases him that he may never retire!
Russell and Shelli have two kids of their own (plus one fur baby). Russell is incredibly proud of his daughter, Addie Houston (class of 2024), who continues to excel academically and strive for new goals athletically. His son, Bradyn Houston (class of 2031) is a strong competitor and gives Russell a run for his money at everything they do. The fur baby of the house, Cash, is maybe more spoiled than the actual children. After 23 years of marriage, Russell couldn’t imagine life any other way. #INAY
