READ EVERY DAY!!!!
DEAR Time: The importance of reading 20 minutes a day
Have you ever heard of DEAR time? DEAR is an acronym that stands for Drop Everything And Read! Children who read for just 20 minutes per day see 1.8 million words each year and have scores on standardized tests in the 90th percentile (because they have experienced so many words!). A small amount of reading each day makes an incredible difference! This powerful image illustrates how many minutes your child will read each school year if they read for 20 minutes a day. We encourage you to make DEAR time a part of your daily schedule at home. For more information Click here.
Need to find out if a book is an AR book?
2. Once there, click on student, or parent
3. In "Quick Search," type the title of the book
4. If the book is indeed an AR title, information about the book will appear, if it is not an AR title, it will say, "No AR Quiz"
Remind students to take Accelerated Reader test from home!
