Fats are a componet in food. There are different kinds of fats where some are benefecial for the human body and the others aren't. If you do not have enough fats it is a result of lack of vitamin and if you consume too much it can lead to heart disease and other problems related.

Saturated Fat : Fats that are derived from animal products.
Examples: meat, dairy, and eggs.
Unsaturated Fat : Monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats are two types of unsaturated fatty acids. These unsaturated fats are derived from vegetables and plants.
Examples: olive oil, peanut oil, and canola oil.
Trans Fat : A fat that is also an unsaturated fat, but can raise bad cholesterol levels while lowering good cholesterol levels. Trans fats are used to extend the shelf life of processed foods. Examples: cookies, cakes, fries and donuts.
