EIGHTEENTH Week of School
Welcome back everyone!! Happy New Year 2020! It is great to see everyone back and ready to take on the New Year with a renewed sense of hope and gratitude for all of our blessings.
Progress reports went home today so please check your child's backpack for the report from their teacher. Please take time to celebrate your son/daughters accomplishments thus far in the trimester. I am proud of their accomplishments everyday! This month the students will complete IReady testing and Aspire interim assessments. Please encourage your children to get plenty of sleep and to eat healthy so they can TEST THEIR BEST!
Next week Big Shoulders Scholarship and Empower Illinois Scholarships open. Please join us here on Wednesday 1/15/20, at 6:30pm for the Empower Illinois Reservation Night located in the community room. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND! Feel free to bring a friend to this event who may be interested in attending a Catholic School.
The late afternoon of Monday, January 13, is when we will be notified about the status of our school remaining open or closing after this school year. Once I hear the news, I will notify the parents via class dojo and follow-up by sending a formal letter home from the Archdiocese in a sealed envelope on Tuesday, January 14. Please feel free to discuss the results with your children at home and the teachers and I will do the same here at school. As always feel free to reach out if any questions or concerns arise.
Please keep praying and staying hopeful. Miracles happen and God is good!
Peace and joy,
Mrs. Rybarczyk
Lucky to be Principal of SJS
Introducing E-Learning Days :)
We are excited to introduce to our school this year E-Learning Days for inclement weather/emergency closings. In the past, if a snow day was called, an Emergency Day was added to the end of the school year. School Code Section 10-20.56 created guidelines in the definition of an e-Learning Day, and the Office of Catholic Schools has approved the use of four E-Learning Days in an academic year. However, unforeseen circumstances could still necessitate the use of “Emergency Days” that will be added to the end of the year.
See link below to read the E-Learning Policy.
