King John
- John was Henry's son and became king in 1199.
- King John raised taxes in England.
- Punished his enemy's without trials.
- The people refused to obey king John unless he guaranteed certain rights.
- They forced John to sign a document of rights called the Magna Carta, or the Great Charter.
