West Clermont Middle School HOPE Squads
Middle School is a difficult time of life. Students are trying to figure out who they are socially, emotionally, and academically as they grow and mature. With all of that comes increased anxiety and stress. Schools today are now focusing more than ever on the mental health well being of their students and tapping in to outside resources to help. At West Clermont Middle School they are helping their students by giving them help with HOPE Squads. (NOTE: HOPE Squads will be launching at West Clermont High School beginning in the Fall of 2019).

You will be required to fill out the following information:

- Child’s name
- Child’s grade level for the 2019-2020 school year
- Child’s home school for the 2019 – 2020 school year

Make sure that you fill out a request for each child that you want to be considered for a building to building request, even if you put their names in the “siblings” box for one of your children. The siblings box helps us cross-connect families, but we need a request for each child.
As a reminder, transportation will not be provided for building to building transfer students attending a district school outside of their home school attendance boundary. However, students approved for a building to building transfer may complete an Alternative Transportation Form http://www.westcler.org/docs/district/depts/22/TransportationDocs/WC%20transportation%20form%202017.pdf requesting transportation from an approved bus stop within the elementary attendance area for which the request was approved.

Get to Know the Wolves Wellness Center at West Clermont Middle School
School-based health centers are exactly what the name implies: the center of health in the schools where they are based. Students and their families rely on school-based health centers to meet their needs for a full range of age-appropriate health care services including:
· primary medical care
· mental/behavioral health care
· vision services
· health education and promotion
· case management
· nutrition education
Students can be treated for acute illnesses, such as flu, and chronic conditions, including asthma and diabetes. With an emphasis on prevention, early intervention and risk reduction, school-based health centers counsel students on healthy habits and how to prevent injury, violence and other threats.
School-based health centers often are operated as a partnership between the school and a community health organization, such as a community health center, like HealthSource of Ohio—West Clermont’s health partner. Nearly 2,000 school-based health centers operate nationwide, according to the most recent National Assembly on School-Based Health Care census.
The Wolves Wellness Center, located in the Middle School, is the School-based Health Center in the West Clermont School District. Parents can enroll their children in the program to access its services and benefits.
