Keeping up with the Redhawks! October 2, 2022 Edition

Dear Rock Creek Families,

It's hard to believe that September is over and October is here! This month brings us Trunk or Treat, continuing our great cycles of learning, and are emphasizing the importance of demonstrating responsibility.

One way to define Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. (Purposefull People, 2021). A simple practice we'd appreciate you trying out is helping your student be responsible for their things, including bringing them to school. If your kiddo forgets their homework, please consider allowing them to understand the impact of forgetting that folder/backpack/paper/etc. We'll support them on our end with gentle guidance, but ultimately, we are working to teach our Red Hawks what it means to demonstrate responsibility with some levels of independence so they may experience success.

Finally, we are excited to celebrate Whitney High School's Homecoming week with some spirit days this week!
