Important: PBIS Rewards

Our School is using PBIS Rewards to help us with our PBIS program. PBIS Rewards is a technology-based PBIS Management System that helps us with our behavior incentive program. You can learn about PBIS Rewards at their website (www.pbisrewards.com).


Our students can earn rewards throughout the day by meeting our behavior expectations. These rewards are in the form of electronic "paws". They can redeem these paws for privileges, tangible items, access to events, and other similar things. Our expectation is that we will see overall behavior improve throughout the school and that the number of referrals we have will decrease.


PBIS Rewards has a Family App that will give you some insight into how your child is doing with respect to our PBIS program. The Family App will run on almost all smart devices, including smartphones and tablets. You can find it in the iPhone/iPad App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store. Just search for "PBIS Rewards Family".


A letter will be coming home with your child on Tuesday. Once you have installed the app, you can scan the QR Code on that letter. You will have to confirm your relationship to your child by certifying that you are a parent or guardian. Once you have done this you will be able to see your child's progress with PBIS Rewards.

Curriculum Night

WC Petty will have two Curriculum Nights coming up (please pay close attention to the grade levels associated with each night). This is an evening that is only for parents/guardians only to come in and hear from their child's teacher regarding the year ahead.


Each evening will have 2 sessions that will be identical to one another. This allows for families with more than one child to attend different classes if needed. The sessions will be as follows:


Kindergarten - Second Grade

Monday, September 12th

6:00 - 6:30 pm

6:30 - 7:00 pm


Third - Fifth Grade

Thursday, September 15th

6:00 - 6:30 pm

6:30 - 7:00 pm

Updates from the Technology Department

Self-Service Application

The Technology Department is adding an application to all iPads for the roll out this new school year. The application is called Self-service and allows students to control what is on the home screen of the iPads. This application allows students and staff the ability to install or reinstall apps to the iPad using an established menu of approved apps. The iPads will start with limited applications installed on them but there will be many applications in the self-service library to choose to add if needed. Staff and students will be able to delete apps from the home screen and iPad, but self-service allows the program to be reinstalled easily. More instructions on this application will be discussed with students once school resumes.


iPad Refresh

All K-8 students have been given iPads now that school has started. This iPad will have a district approved case installed on each one that cannot be removed due to the warranty on the iPads. Each student will also be given a new Apple cord and Apple charging brick. These items need to be kept for the entire year and returned with the iPad at the end of each school year or there will be a replacement fee assessed for these items. Stickers and/or labels should not be placed on the iPad or bricks. If there is an issue and an item is not working, please contact your building administrator to get a different one as soon as possible. Please help with the expectation of having the iPad charged once the student comes to school. It is very important that the student has a charged iPad so that class time and instruction isn’t lost to accomplish this task.

Students should arrive at their designated bus stop 5 minutes prior to their scheduled pickup time.
