East Middle Learning Target Norms
- Students must know the goal of the learning, not completion of the task - and it has to be anchored somehow for them to reference at the beginning, middle, end of the lesson. How you do that is up to you. Want to visit some colleagues that do it brilliantly? See Michelle Vogel and Rachel Kinsey.
- Purposeful, intentional planning is a huge part of Domain 1 of TPGES - Mr. Roettger and I cannot give credit without evidence. If the first bullet doesn't make sense yet, then we may call for lesson plans from you.
- Targets aligned to rigor of the standard, lesson activity, questioning/conferring, and to the daily formative assessment/ reflection- save yourself the 10 minutes necessary at the end of each class for students to cement learning, ask questions, show you what they know so you can inform your instruction.
