Key Points:

  • Fully remote students will not be assessed.
  • We will follow an alternate bell schedule Nov. 9-12.

  • Nov. 13 we will follow a normal bell schedule.

  • Lunch time, Nov. 9-12, will be at the same time as it always is for your student.

  • Remote students will take part in Digital Citizenship Lessons while in-person students are taking the assessments. These lessons may be with a different teacher than their block 1-2 teachers, so watch emails for Teams meeting invites.

  • Students will be assigned some asynchronous work during the block of time students are taking assessments at school. They may not be with a teacher the whole block (7:40-10:00).

Buffett Sports: Skill Development

Seventh and Eighth Grade Students!

If you are interested in participating in boys basketball skills development or girls volleyball skills development, stop by to pick up a packet in the main office. The first 24 who get their paperwork in can sign up for a once-a-week skills development after school. Coaches will work with you on honing and practicing your skills to get you ready for next year’s tryouts at Buffett and high schools. Skills development will begin the week of November 16 and end December 10. Students who receive transportation will be eligible to ride the late bus home. Space is limited, so stop by the main office today after block 1/2 to pick up your information packet.

New Counseling Information!

Starting during the 2020-2021 school year, all OPS Middle School and High School students in grades 6-12 will participate in personalized weekly lessons from their School Counselors. Lessons will improve students' competency in social-emotional learning, academics, career, and post-secondary education. Students will increase their knowledge, reflect on their discoveries, and gain insights. These lessons can be completed virtually or at school with the support of advisement teachers, classroom instructors, or school counselors.
