Live, Laugh, Learn, Leave a Legacy
May 2022
Dear Patterson Families,
It's hard to believe that the 2021-2022 school year is already coming to a close. As we celebrate the accomplishments of our students, I would like to take this opportunity to express how fortunate I feel to be the Principal of our Patterson Pride! Your children inspire us on a personal and academic level each day. Thank you for being such a supportive and involved community and for working together to be a true "village" to our kids. Our students and staff are successful because of your continued commitment to excellence. I appreciate your time and effort in making our school one of Arizona’s finest. Our school community is continuing to welcome more families to our Pride and we look forward to seeing you all return next year.
The upcoming 2022-2023 academic year will begin with parents receiving class/teacher placement information via email the week of July 11th. Meet the Teacher Night and Curriculum Night will be combined on Monday, July 18th. We hope all students and parents come to this very important and exciting evening. It is a perfect opportunity for you and your child to meet the teacher, meet some new classmates, and obtain information on buses, PTO, Kids Express childcare, Club CUSD, receive curriculum and see class presentations.
The first day of school is Wednesday, July 20th. We are planning for an excellent year of learning in 2022-2023 and I am so thrilled to invite everyone back to the PRIDE!
Thank you again for making Patterson an “A” rated school and your school of choice. You have been involved with our students and teachers in a variety of ways and have made a positive impact on the culture of Patterson. On behalf of the staff, we truly thank you for a successful school year and look forward to seeing your children in July!
Live, Laugh, Learn, Leave a Legacy!
Ms. Stephens

Mr. Hoppal's Tech Talk
Summer is almost here! It has been another great year and I have seen so much growth in the technology classroom. The students are more fluent in their digital skills and are becoming even stronger digital citizens.
Over summer we can spend a lot of time with a screen in front of us, especially when it gets hot outside. Instead of simply playing video games this would be a great time to be more productive with our screen time!
Ideas for productive screen time:
- Practice your home row typing skills
- Fine tune your coding skills with Code.org or the many other coding websites available for free
- Write stories or keep a digital journal with the Google tools we have available
- Build a website using Google Sites to keep track of your trips or activities
- Make a stop action film or explore digital photo editing
- Use the technology links from our lessons throughout the school year
Another thing I have found helpful is Common Sense Media. This website helps provide honest reviews and even has great lessons to encourage digital citizenship. It helps guide what activities and movies we let our own children watch throughout the year too.
I wish you a great and relaxing summer!
