Hawk Happenings: May 1st
Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy
Message from the Principal
Welcome to May! May is Mary's month in the Catholic Church and we use this time to honor her as not only the Mother of God, but also as the Queen of Heaven. In the Catholic Church, we believe that we can go to Mary directly to ask for her to intercess on our behalf. In honor of our Dear Mother, Mary, we will have a special May Crowning at the mass this Friday. We ask all children to bring a flower, which will be made into bouquets for each classroom, and then used in a procession at the beginning of mass. We will also put a special crown on the statue of Mary, which will stay in place for the month of May. You do not have to purchase a flower, you can simply find one in your yard or in a park. Thank you for making this a special way to honor our Dear Mother.
On a personal note, I have reflected a lot recently about the sacrifice Mary made when she accepted her role as the mother of Jesus. I am grateful to her for the very tough and painful journey she endured for all of us. I can't imagine what it must have been like to watch your child go through such a horrific ordeal. This has been on my mind a lot as I have watched what Father Wagner's mom (Maria) has gone through every day at the hospital. It has to be so painful to watch your child go through so much, whether they are 4 or 48 (as Father is). She remains steadfast in her faith and prays all day everyday at his bedside. Maybe it isn't a coincidence that both are named Maria! So, to all of the parents (and especially the moms, since it is Mary's month), thank you to all of you for what you do as parents. I know it is not easy, but it is so important.
Blessings,
Katie Dempsey

Also, Father's mom and dad are staying here full time, while his siblings go back and forth between here and Wenatchee/Leavenworth.
