Writing Essential Question: How do writers write about characters and show the sequence of events in a story? (Narrative Writing)

Science
In this unit, the children will be investigating properties of chemicals and using these properties to identify 5 mystery chemicals. As we perform each science experiment, we will also be working on “Writing like a Scientist”. The children will be recording their hypothesis, observations and conclusions in a Science Notebook. During this first unit of study, the science notebook writing will be heavily modeled for the students.
Social Studies
- Last week, we covered map grids, latitude and longitude and hemispheres
- This week, we will focus on Continents and Oceans
